Challenges of Electronic Voting - A Survey

Electronic Voting (e-Voting) is the most important application ine-Government and e-Democracy. Thanks to the rapid growth inthe use of computers and advances in cryptography, it is a seriouspush for e-Voting because many people already have access tothe Internet. e-Voting can be the fastest, cheapest, and mosteffective way to administer the election, count the votes, andreport the results. The main purpose of this paper is to highlightthe major challenges facing e-Voting systems, introduce differentideas to face those challenge from different countries, and toexplore the advantages and disadvantages of those ideas. Each ofthe challenges presented in this paper must be taken into accountin crafting a legal framework for e-Voting to prevent harm beforeballoting is concluded
