A survey of the benefits of using lean manufacturing and Value stream mapping via simulation Case study: Andisheh car safety plant

Nowadays due to fierce competition between manufacturers, the goals such as customer satisfaction and waste reduction during production and also coordination between production and customer demand have high priority for them. In lean manufacturing we intend to minimize the main factors causing waste. One of the most important issues in lean manufacturing is Value stream mapping. In Value stream mapping, Information and physical flow of materials is drawn in the form of a map starting from the entry Door of the plant and ending with final product received by customer. In this paper we first describe the standard symbols in Value stream mapping then we draw the current value stream map of the automobile air inlet valve production line and then by using existing techniques, future value stream map is drawn. Finally, by using simulation, the advantages of this technique are described in the form of reports.
