چکیده مقاله:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationshipbetween personality characteristics and social self-efficacy withacademic motivation in male high school students. The researchmethod was descriptive. 300 students were selected by multistagecluster sampling and responded to the questionnaires of personalitycharacteristic, academic motivation and social self-efficacy. Finding:The results of Pearson correlation coefficient showed that there issignificant correlation between students’ academic motivation andfive personality characteristics, including neuroticism, openness,agreeableness, extraversion, and conscientiousness. Also, there wasa significant positive correlation between social self-efficacy andacademic motivation. Results of regression analysis showed that thepersonality characteristics of social self-efficacy and conscientiouswas able to predict and explain the positively and significantly theacademic motivation of boy students. Attitudes and abilities inadapt to circumstances causes reduced stresses including academic,emotional and social stress. On the other hand, weak self-efficacyresults in negative evaluation, unfavorable and the sense ofdisability and helpless.
