effect of cellulose acetate and polyvinylpyrrolidone concentration on membrane structures

In this study, cellulose acetate flat sheet membranes were prepared by phase inversion method and Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVPK30) was used as a hydrophilic additive and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) as a solvent in their preparations. In this study, distilled water was used as a non-solvent. The effect of polymer and additive concentration on the membrane structures, were investigated by scanning electron microscopy photographs. The results illustrated that polymer and additive concentrations are important factors in membrane structures and by increasing the amount of them, we observed finger-like and sponge-like structures
