ORGANIC FARMING - PERCEPTION OF FARMERS AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES

This paper aims to identify the factors underlying farmers propensity to participate in organic farming cultivation in a rural region. For this, we employ ordered logit model with latent variables using a specific data set collected through an agri-environmental farm survey in 2013. The model includes intention latent variable (propensity to participate in organic farming program) and socio-economics characters. Furthermore, we found that total land holding size and credit and income affected the farmers activity significantly.
