Various types of photo-reactive or photo-responsive biopolymers have been developed for chemical and medical applications (1-3). Here we will demonstrate some photo-reactive biopolymers for medical applications. One is UV-reactive biopolymers including hyaluronic acid, gelatin, chitosan, and nonbiofouling polymer. Another is visible light-reactive polymer systems. The former was utilized for surface micropatterning for cell culture or preparation of a protein-microarray chip. The latter was for bio-sealants
