چکیده مقاله:

Origanum (Lamiaceae) comprises a number of essential oil-rich species that have been used by humans for centuries [1]. Today, the four species of section Majorana (O. onites, O. dubium, O. majorana and O. syriacum) are amongst the most widely used and The composition of oils from various Origanum species has been investigated [2]. In the present study, Origanum Majorana L. is an important species of the genus Origanum which was collected from the East Azarbaijan province of Iran. Essential oil was obtained from this plant by the method of direct hot water distilation in a Clevenger, wase dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and analyzed by the gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Also, traditional distilates were prepared by direct distilation. Organic compounds were extracted by chloroform, were dried and analyzed by GC/MS. Various groups including Carbures, Aldehydes, Ketones, Terpenoids, Phenols and other bioactive compounds recognized.
