Design of SBMs in Persian Gulf

Single Bouy Moorings (SBMs) or single point Moorings (SPMs) are going to be used ever more in Persian. One of the reasons for using these kinds of offshore structures is for transferring crude oil from likely deep water areas where very large tankers can be berthed and berthed and environment conditions are not very sever to the refineries located closely to the shorelines. In this regard one of the SBMs is South Qeshm island is considered at the 40m water depth. The motion of the SBM coupled and uncoupled with shuttle tanker is considered for designing the mooring line and hawsers stiffnes.
