خلاصه مقاله:
The extraction of titanium (IV) from sulphate, chloride and nitrate solutions has been investigated using tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) in kerosene. The effect of the initial concentration of titanium on extraction was found to be negligible. The effect of the acid concentration in the aqueous solution on extraction showed that when the acid concentration in the aqueous feed phase was varied fiom 0.5 M to 4 M, the distributionratios of titanium showed minimal values at 1-2 M acid. Also the third phase formation was observed in the extraction of titanium from acidic media. The stripping of titanium was studied using H2S04, H2S04+H202 and Na2C03. The kinetics of the stripping was very slow when sulphuric acid was used, but was improved with complex forming stripping agents (H2S04+H202) and Na2C03. The extraction and stripping of titanium were 99%
using an aqueous nitrate medium and sodium carbonate strip.
