چکیده مقاله:

Interfacial tension is a crucial parameter for simulation and modeling of water flooding in oil reservoirs. Specially, low salinity water flooding recently has been much attended. Several factors such as pressure, temperature and type of brine affect IFT behavior of oil/brine system. However, the role of theses parameters for the case of heavy oil with high asphaltene content is not well understood. In this work using pendent drop method was performed for measurement of IFT of heavy oil/brine system for a wide range of salt content (0-200000ppm), temperature (25-90 C˚) and pressure(14.7-2500 psi). Also it was used two types of salt. The results obtained indicated that salinity plays key role on IFT behavior and optimum salinity should always be applied to maximize the oil recovery. Two minimum values were observed for IFT in present of both of salts in the system; one of them is at the concentration of 20000 ppm and other at 40000 ppm at 40˚C. This value of IFT is between 12 and 13 mN/m. Also the IFT between crude oil with high asphaltene content and brine decreased linearly with increasing temperature. The results of this work could be helpful for successful design of low salinity water flooding in oil reservoirs at different conditions of salt content, pressure, temperature and type of salt.
