چکیده مقاله:

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the two factors of managerial business intelligence and systems thinking on knowledge management. Effective decision-making is the most important factor in the development of organizations, including libraries and information centers as major centers in knowledge management. The sound and up-to-date reports, fast analysis tools, and data with appropriate quality can be mentioned as the important factors for effective decision-making. There are many elements that strengthen the mentioned factors and assist managers in making decisions. Systems thinking and business intelligence are such elements. To develop their knowledge management centers, managers must identify and evaluate all approaches, components and their relations through utilizing systems thinking. In the modern managerial thoughts, instead of concentrating on the individual components, the systems thinking (system-oriented) is used. In this new framework of management, the organization is considered as an integrated system. Increasing abilities and reducing limitations are the main purposes of entering each kind of technology into organizations. Libraries managers expect new technology, while achieving growth and creating harmony among current and future needs of users, reduce costs and provide possibility of implementing knowledge management for them. By examining different dimensions of business intelligence, it can be found that this system is the same expected of libraries managers for knowledge management. The business intelligence is a collection of technologies, applied programs, and methods implemented to make intelligent decision-making processes in an organization. In fact, the business intelligence is a tool for the fulfillment of management thinking and knowledge management. These two factors have points in common in the objectives, approaches and applications of their results and also in some such issues as received reports from business intelligence information dashboard, reports analysis tools are different from each other. This paper examines the effects of these two factors on modern libraries, as the main centers of knowledge management, and their similarities and differences have been discussed.
