چکیده مقاله:

Copper is a highly toxic metal that is discharged into receiving waters by several industries. Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibers were applied to adsorption of foresaid metal. Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofiber that is prepared by an electrospinning technique, were chemically modified with amine groups.Aminated PAN nanofibers(APANnF) were prepared through the reaction of PAN nanofibers with diethylenetriamine (DETA) in a solution. The effects of reaction conditions on physical properties and ion adsorption ability were investigated. The results showed that increasing the reaction time, temperature, and specific surface area of the nanofiber increased the content of amine groups in all samples but reduced the mechanical strength of modified nanofibers. Atomic force microscopy shows that the adsorption of metal ions on the APANnF made the surface rougher. Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) revealed that the amine groups on the surface of APANnF played an important role in adsorption of copper ions from aqueous solutions. The adsorption of the aminated PAN nanofibers could be described by Longmuir isotherm and the adsorption capacity was found as 110.04 mg/g nanofiber for Cu(II).
