The prime concern of this report is the provision of a solution to insufficient capacity at periods of peak demand. This involves design of tariffs which discourage use of electricity at peak periods. Metering, Critically examining and if necessary correcting the electricity consumption is desirable in order to resolve the supply problems. Systematic procedures for management of demand are suggested. They involve analysis of national demand pattern, tariffs, monitoring and metering leading to reduction or elemination of the need for compulsory power cuts, and also the generation of extra revenue to help with expansion of capacity.
