In Romania,during 1987-1990 the researches concerning the optimization and compacting of the overhead electric lines have been accomplished . A special attention been paid to the 40U KV lines due to the results obtained for this category . This paper Present s the dimensioning conditions, criteria of solution analysis comparison and selection as well as the results obtained for the 40U kV single circuit lines. Several technical of the optimised and/or compacted tower – RODELRA are also presented This tower will be used in Romania beginning with '1991 for the construction of the 400KV single circuit overhead electric, lines.
