All Overhead Power Lines are subject to wind induced vibration, with consequential damage to conductors and fittings.
The causes and characteristics of such conductor movement and some solutions to these problems are shown in this paper.
The criteria for the design of vibration dampers, spacer dampers and galloping control devices are described together with their associated performance requirements.
