This paper, considering long and medium term planning of Central China Power Network (CCPN), calculated and analyzed the shortcircuit
current level and its variation trend in future CCPN particularly for the construction of the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station (TGHPS). According to the experience of construction and operation of international large power systems, It put forward the measures and methods of short-circuit current-limitation in the 220-500KV network, studied the effect of operation modes and inter -connection of TGHPS on short-circuit currents (SCC) of power networks and suggested the solving methods.
