In the Large Electrical power networks with large geneators capacity and relatively. low operating voltage, the level of short circui . t current is very high, up to 60-80 KA. In such a case considering short circuit current limitation as a solution to such a problem can be useful. In this paper a new method is proposed for short circuit current limitation by introducing a relatively simple device known as SCCLD and it is also shown that, by corelating the rate of short circuit current limitation (β) and the rate of maximum voltage drop between the condenser in its nominal operating
condition and phase voltage (α) , the optimal number of short circuit current limitation device (SCCLD) in a large electrical network can be estimated.
