A Sociolinguistic Study on language Varieties in Gorgan

As a descriptive study of the effect of any and all aspects of society including cultural norms, expectations and context on the way language is used, sociolinguistics is a move towards studying language performance. The purpose of this research is to investigate language varieties for the development of the linguistics studies in Gorgan. It studies how language varieties differ between groups separated by certain social variables, e.g., ethnicity, religion, status, gender, level of education, age, etc., and how creation and adherence to these rules is used to categorize individuals in social or socioeconomic classes. As the usage of a language varies from one place to another, it also varies among social classes, and these sociolects are the target of sociolinguistics studies. This research is a descriptive qualitative study in nature. The findings of this research can pave the way for better understanding of language performance, why we speak differently in various social contexts, and uncover the social relationships in a community.
