THE FOCAL MECHANISM SOLUTION CATALOGUE FOR SE CARPATHIAN REGION

The current study presents the analysis of focal mechanisms of earthquakes for the region of South- Eastern Carpathians, particularly of those originating from the Vrancea zone. To perform the comprehensive analysis data from the ISC Bulletin for the period 1967-2006 were used in the study, to which the series of supplementary catalogues were added: HVD, M&P, ONC, ANSS, MED, ROM+. As a result, the focal mechanisms for 250 catalogued events were obtained, which were projected on a uniform magnitude scale (Mw) for the geographic area of interest in the limits: Latitude 44-50° and Longitude 24- 30° for the continuum reference period of 40 years.
