time frequency analysis of earthquake records using fourier transform is a fundamental reliable and useful tool in earhquake engineering and engineering seismology however it is no longer functional if the frequency vaiation is analyzed in time domain . alternatively short time fourier transorm is utilized for the task but it has also some limitations /restrictions.
