PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF GRAPHENE OXIDE-TITANIUM DIOXIDE IN WATER TREATMENT

This study is a critical review about recent and significant investigations on graphene oxide-TiO2 photocatalyst composite, methods of preparation, applications and results of incorporating TiO2 with graphene. Five main methods to synthesis graphene are reviewed and three procedures are introduced to prepare the graphene oxide and the semiconductor composite. Results of incorporation are compared with pure TiO2 as photocatalyst and mechanism of enhancing photocatalytic activity is explained in detail. At the end, our recommendations for future studies of graphene oxide-TiO2 are presented.
