Attitudes as important personality factors play a role in SLA. Learners would succeed with positive attitude (Brown, 2000). Integrating the learner into language learning (as one of the theoretical principles of ESP courses) may lead to higher success in learning. This article is going to investigate the attitudes of the students of linguistics toward English language in ESP courses. The instrument of investigation is a standardized questionnaire adapted for the purpose of this study. The participants were the B. A. students of Linguistics passing their ESP course in Linguistics Department of the University of Isfahan. generally the students have some positive attitude for learning English at the beginning. But after some time, some changes will appear in their attitudes. A lot more is, however, needed to do in the classroom and in process of policy making to help students get rid of the imposing affective filter.
