خلاصه مقاله:

The objective of this study was to investigate the role of biological measures on runoff and erosion reduction using EUROSEM. The study area was a part of Vanak catchment in the Northern Karoon river watershed, Iran. Runoff and sediment data were collected from two experimental plots located in two catchments for a few periodical rainfall events. Parameterization, calibration and validation of model carried out on input parameters. The simulation of biological soil and water conservation technique indicated that the biological protection approach caused significant differentials in generated total runoff, total soil loss, peak flow rates and time to peak flow rates as compared to that of control. Biological conservation techniques reduced output sediment as well as total runoff to the amount of 60 to 80 percent by achievement of a sustainable ecosystem in the catchment,.
