In this study, the staggered displacement method is used for three-dimensional damreservoir coupled problems in the time domain. Staggered displacement method, is based on the approximation of the displacement from the structure’s equation of motion.The effect of absorption of reservoir boundaries are accounted for and the effect of truncated boundary is accounted by Sharan boundary condition. Morrow Point dam is chosen to investigate the accuracy and stability of the method in a three-dimensional problem. The proposed staggered method is found to be stable and quite accurate when compared with the existing frequency domain solution
