the limit analysis, limit equilibrium, stress characteristics and zero extension line methods have been used to analyze all types of soil mechanics problems such as bearing capacity, lateral earth pressure and slope stability. Many studies and developments have been made in each method during the last decade. Based on the assumptions and principles of each method, these methods have some advantages and disadvantages compared to each other. they yield to the results, which may be different or similar at specific complete comparison has not been made between all of these methods.
