خلاصه مقاله:
In this research ferrous iron oxidation by aeration was studied experimentally. The effects of pH, aeration rate and copper compounds as catalyst were considered. Soluble ferrous iron usually causes unpleasant odors and tastes; so its removal is essential. When copper exists in the solution, the oxidation rate of iron (II) will increase. Experimental results showed that the oxidation rate increases with increasing copper concentration. It is seen from the experimental data that ferrous iron oxidation rate increases as aeration rate increases.
