Flow-forming is a Kind of metal forming process in which the thickness of a tubular blank decreases and the length of it increases. Because of existing the thickness increasement phenomenon of the tubular blank after forming of the rollers, the forming forces which are applied from the rollers to the tubular blank become unequal; This unequalness of forming forces makes an unbalancing which results in exerting the resultant force to the bearings which are holding mandrel and tailstoke. For balancing the forming forces, we have to change depth of cut for each roller. In this article, the method of changing the depth of cut for each roller is explained. This method of balancing the forming forces is obtained by the auther. The flow-forming process is simulated by ABAQUS, the 3D elasto-plastic finite element software.
