We apply Straight rays between source and receiver in using acoustical velocimeters and for computing fluid velocity, we use phase velocity based on upstream and downstream transient times. Group or signal velocity applies in using corrected ray theory. We relate differential transient time and fluid velocity to compute fluid velocity.
