For identification of fish fauna in Areas River and Aras reservoir, two research projects were carried out from 2001 to 2002. The seasonal sampling was carried out in 22 stations by electro fishing, cast net and beach seine. Results showed that 24 species belong to families exist in Aras River and 15 species from 15 families exist in Aras reservoir. The identified families were Cyprinidae, Siluridae, Balitoridae, Cobitidae, Poecilidae, Salmonidae, Percidae and Gobiidae. The Cyprinidae family with 15 species was more abundant.
