A 9 year old bridge located in marine environment has been investigated to determine the time when corrosion activity is likely to become of concern and intervention needed to prevent progress of corrosion damage. Various techniques of characterisation of reinforced concrete have been applied to some elements of the bridge and discussed in relation to service life of the elements.
