The heat transfer and flow friction characteristics of perforated-plates are important factors in the design of a Matrix Heat Exchanger (MHE). No satisfactory theory exists to predict the overall heat transfer coefficient for a perforated-plate, and this coefficient must be measured under varying geometrical and operating parameters. We have developed analytical techniques to reduce the experimental data of single-blow transient test of discrete plate-spacer pairs. A single-blow transient test set up has been used to determine heat transfer coefficients of stacks of perforated-plates. The results are presented in terms of Nusselt number, given as function of Reynolds number and geometrical parameters.
