Tests on site are the last link in the chain of various tests. They shall show the "correctness of installation and operation". Incorrect erection is a substantial cause of failures and defects in service. Hence , tests on site are a valuable means to debug the installed equipment. :since GIS-technology represents manufacturer's know-how in many respects , the program for tests on site should be elaborated by the manufacturer and maybe supplemented by the user. It is proposed that tests on site should be performed by a manufacturer user team. Special consideration is given to the high voltage tests on site.
