The paper presents the implications of the way the neutral is grounded and how it is done in this field in the networks with actually earthed (UN>110 Kv) and actually unearthed (UN = 6 ... 20 Kv) neutral . Stress is being laid on certain original solutions applied in Romania which provide great technical-economic advantages.The case of the outdoors substations and of the internal services of the power stations are dwelt upon. Some of the solutions have been generalized, others are under extension to the Romanian energy system.
