Transient enclosure voltages in GIs caused by disconnector switching are investigated and presented In the paper. Results obtained from field tests for low and high voltage responses and digital simulations are compared and discussed. Using the model of GIS transient-simulations. the
effect of particular elements on reduction of TEV for a 245 W substations are considered. Conclusions derived from the results Indicate different parameters affect transient enclosure voltages.
