Metallurgical failure analysis in power plants is essential to avoid repeating of similar failures and subsequent disasters. Although such analysis is based on some known scientific and experimental methods, each case has its own characteristics; so it is a good example of case study. The following article is a case study in which we tried to find out the main reason of the rupture which had taken place in waterwall tube of Bandar Abbas power plant. In this case, the main reason was overheating.
