An analysis of the overvoltage values, generated by the switching unloaded 110 kV overhead - cable line, is presented in this paper. Influences of the MO surge arresters and inductive voltage transformers on the reducing of the switching overvoltages were analyzed. The investigations have
been performed using the EMTP ( Electromagnetic Transient Program ) [ 1].
