Nowadays, reactive power valuation is an important research issue in restructured power systems. Although different methods have been stablished for pricing reactive power, they have a little attention to power system security and reliability. In this paper a new concept of reactive power compensation based on reliability aspects of power system is introduced. More over modification to this method by introducing voltage control areas is discussed. Acquired results show the effectiveness of the proposed modifications.
