Production of the Al matrix nano-composites via mechanochemical reaction of Al and a metal oxide has been studied for various systems [1]. Nanostructured Al matrix, homogenous dispersion of Al2O3 nano-particles as well as presence of reduced metal as solid solution or Me-Al intermetallic improve markedly mechanical properties of these composites [2].In the present work, we aim to produce an Al-4%wt Mn nanocomposite reinforced by 5%wt Al2O3 particles via mechanochemical reaction between Al and MnO2 powder. Effect of milling time on the structural evolution of Al matrix as well as the final properties of nanocomposite will be studied
