A multicomponent reaction (MCR) is a process in which three or more easily accessiblecomponents are combined together in a single reaction vessel to produce a final productdisplaying features of all inputs and thus offers greater possibilities for molecular diversity perstep with a minimum of synthetic time and effort. MCRs constitute an especially attractivesynthetic strategy since they provide easy and rapid access to large libraries of organiccompounds with diverse substitution patterns [۱-۲].here we report the results of our studies on the reaction between ۴-hydroxycoumarin ۱,aldehydes aromatic ۲ and ۱,۳-diketones ۳ in the presence of silica supported sodium hydrogensulfate as catalyst to synthesis of chromen derivative ۴ under solvent free condition in fairlygood yield.
