خلاصه مقاله:
A field experiment was carried out at Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Notwane Farm to evaluate the nutritional potential of Safflower meal, after oil extraction to be used as potential livestock feed. The treatments were nine safflower genotypes (Kiama Composite (control), PI ۵۳۷۶۳۲-۱۰۳۸-USA, PI ۳۰۴۴۱-BJ-۲۶۲۱-Iran, PI ۵۳۷۵۹۸-Sina-USA, PI ۴۰۷۶۱۶-BJ-۲۱۳۱-Turkey, PI ۵۳۷۶۳۴-۱۰۴۰-USA, PI ۵۳۷۶۶۸-BJ-۱۰۸۵-USA, PI ۳۱۴۶۵۰-Milutin-۱۱۴-Kazakistan and PI ۳۰۶۸۳۰-BJ-۱۶۳۲-India, laid in randomized complete block design. Safflower genotypes significantly (P<۰.۰۵) influenced the nutritional composition of safflower seed meal. The seed meal CP, NDF, ADF, ADL and ash contents significantly (P<۰.۰۵) varied between ۱۹.۳-۲۲.۵, ۵۴.۶-۶۱.۲, ۴۵.۰-۵۰.۷, ۱۸.۰-۲۰.۸, ۱.۱۰-۱.۶۰%, respectively. The seed meal mineral contents ranged from ۶.۹۸-۷.۹۰ mg/g P, ۱۰.۶۸-۱۲.۹۱ mg/g K, ۸.۷۸-۱۰.۶۱ mg/g Ca, ۴.۴۵-۴.۹۹ mg/g Mg, ۹۰-۱۲۰ µg/g Zn, ۷۰-۹۰ µg/g Fe, ۴۰-۵۰ µg/g Mn and ۹۰-۱۳۰ µg/g Cu. It was concluded that safflower genotype greatly influences nutritional value of seed meal after oil extraction and the meal can be used livestock feed.A field experiment was carried out at Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Notwane Farm to evaluate the nutritional potential of Safflower meal, after oil extraction to be used as potential livestock feed.
