خلاصه مقاله:
This paper investigates the evaluation of three English textbooks which have been used in second and third guidance school and first high school grades by the Ministry of National Education of Iran. Teachers and students responded to a 37-item textbook evaluation scheme (Smiley Questionnire) to express their perceptions concerning various aspects of the textbooks. Both groups of participants were also interviewed to gain further insight into the use of the textbooks. Finding revealed the extent of appropriateness of the three textbooks used by young learners of English. Suggestions are offered for future revision and/or designing the textbooks for young learners of English.
