In this paper design and simulation of a distance measuring system based on FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) method is presented. In this method, time of flight (TOF) is converted into a beat frequency that is proportional to the measured distance [1].Here two ways to extract distance from frequency of IF signal is presented. The designed system is simulated and the results are compared to the theoretical principles.
