In this work, the wheat straw (WS) materials have been simply modified by aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES). The adsorption of methyl orange (MO) from aqueous solutions onto modified wheat straw has been studied. The adsorption isotherm data were fitted to Langmuir and Frundlich equations, and the Langmuir adsorption capacity, Qmax was found to be 126.5 mgg−1. It was found that the adsorption of MO decreases by increasing temperature from 303 to 323K and the process is exothermic in nature. The removal of MO by APTES -WS followed pseudo-second order reaction kinetics based on Lagergren equations.
