خلاصه مقاله:
Computerized Consequence Modeling (CM) is a more reliable method for analyzing the risk of fire and explosion, the most considered incidents in process industries; semi quantitative risk ranking methodologies are also universally used for determining the hazard category in process plants. DNV GL PHASTTM Software, commonly used software, is employed in this paper for consequence modeling of fire and explosion scenarios in a case study which was designed and built based on outcomes of DOW’s F&EI methodology for hazard evaluation and facility siting. The results illustrate the ineffectiveness of semi quantitative risk evaluation methodologies for site mapping of major process plants. To do this, major equipment of the Low Density Poly Ethylene plant (South Pars Economic Zone, Iran) was calculated by both the above mentioned technique
