Nowadays, essential oils (EOs) are widely used in sanitary industries to give a good aroma to consumer products. The present work aimed to provide a sustained release formulation through adsorption of Sparkling Jasmine EO (SJEO) on a mineral clay i.e., clinoptilolite (CP). The average particle size of clinoptilolite was 25 μm with specific surface area of 19.8 m2.g-1determined by BET. SJEO components adsorption on and desorption from CP were investigated by gas chromatographymass spectrometry (GC-MS). Adsorption selectivity was affected by the abundance of each component in the crude SJEO and its polarity. The maximum amount of SJEO adsorbed on the CP clay was 107.4 mg.g-1
