critical success factors CSFs are those functions that must go well in order to ensure success for and organization . CSFs include areas and issues that are critical to both ad organizations current operating activities and future success. The approach uses a series of interviews to obtain the information necessary to determine which factors are critical. on the other hand knowledge management KM is very critical for organization achievements. understanding the KM components and its CSFs for managerial decisions about the organizational activities is undeniable . this study investigates the critical success factors for knowledge management in the iranian. oil industry. for this purpose at first the literature of KM and CSFs are reviewed in detail. then by interviews with experts of oil industry and university teachers in this area, critical success factors of knowledge management in this industry are identified . in the end of this paper suggestions for improvement will be presented.
