Abstract:

Power line communication (PLC) is an emerging technology for multimedia, broadband Internet access and smart grid applications. However, the development of PLC has been slowed down by theabsence of a generally applicable channel model. In this paper, a channel model for the domesticbroadband power line (PLC) is presented and discussed. Modeling approach based on the physicalstructure of electrical networks in homes and small offices. The structure has been simplified toextract a parametric model that still maintain Essential behavior of the channel in the band HF (30MHz). Realistic channel model provides a set of values to reduce the number of physical parameters.Moreover, the statistical distribution for such parameters that allow the production of a random group of channels is recommended. Credit channel is generated by comparing their behavior to one of thenumerous channels in the network's internal power measurement is evaluated. Hence, this model canbe used to estimate the technical operation of transmission channels PLC, PLC systems to help designor prototype testing compliance.
