Children with attention deficit and hyperactivity have problems in their inhibition by the definition of their diagnosis. Using games specially games which involves cognitive, sensory and motor aspects of the child might be able to prevent the impulsiveness of these children and be used in the rehabilitation process of the children with ADHD.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive sensory-motor games on inhibition of children with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder. 20 elementary school students who were diagnosed to have ADHD by a psychiatric were chosen. Teachers’ confirmation and Conners Continuous Performance Diagnostic TestQuestionnaire were used to make sure of the diagnosis. These children were randomly divided into two groups of 10. Stroop (1935) was used to evaluate the attention of the participating students. The experimental group participated in 10 intervention sessions of 60 minutes for 4 weeks, while the control group stayed in the waiting list to receive the intervention after the study. The obtained data were analyzed using Analysis of the Covariance. The findings showed significant differences (p<0.5) between the experimental and the control group in inhibition. At the end, using family-based cognitive sensory-motor games for improving inhibition of children with ADHD was discussed. Further discussions as well as suggestions for future research are presented
