Early monitoring of invasive mosquitoes in province of Qom and publication of Manual Rome to Qom

The city of Qom, like the city of Rome, of which, is followed the experiences in our activity of Qom, acts as a crossroads for the country and could be at risk of diseases transmitted by mosquitoes vector of VBD.Following the epidemic VBD in the neighboring countries of Iran and in order to face with the threat of VBD occurrence, a urveillance action was implemented in the Province of Qom, where is the holy city of the Shiite religion in the world. Qom is rich in sacred places like the sanctuary of Bibi Fatima Masoumeh and the Holy Mosque of Jamkaran and is characterized by the presence of pilgrims of different ethnicities from Iran and over 100 countries of the world.Mosquito monitoring becomes essential for the implementation of any entomological surveillance of Vector Borne Disease. In fine-tune to the recommendation of international health authorities as WHO, the standard design for adult collection of mosquitoes a key operation to address the issue of VBD. Since there is a risk of transmission of some of above mentioned diseases in addition to West Nile Virus transmitted by species not belonging to Aedes genera, it was decided to carry out, in addition to the entomological investigation on invasive Aedes albopictus and Aedes aegypti, also identification of all species of mosquitoes collected with the intention of Arboviruses investigation.Mosquitoes collection was carried out using 3 types of traps by 16 field technicians from March 2018 to March 2019. Traps were installed at rest areas at the entrance and to Qom province and in local parks in the city. 8 adult mentoring Traps of 4 BG Traps and 4 CO2 Traps and 200 OviTrap for the collection of eventual eggs of Aedes species . Traps were installed 4 days a week for a total 28 week.This contribution intend to bring the result of this unique experience get to theconclusion with the publication of manual lessons from experiences on aedes mosquitoes vector of diseases of 174 pages already distributed all over the country through Universities of Medical Sciences.
