چکیده مقاله:

The recycling of waste heat is, in fact, a beneficial and valuable use of the waste heat energy in the manufacturing industries’ processes. Iran s industry with 323 million barrels of crude oil equivalent consumes 24.4 percent of the country s energy consumption, while non-metallic minerals with 70.54 million barrels of crude oil equivalent, are considered as one of the energy-intensive industries in Iran, which has a high potential in energy recovery. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to estimate the potential of heat recovery in highly energy-intensive industries and also the potential of carbon dioxide emission reduction. The results of the study estimate that the total waste heat recovery potential for selected industries at the reference temperatures of 25°C and 150°C are 8.68 GW and 5.71 GW, respectively. The cement industry has the highest potential of heat recovery at the reference temperature of 150°C. While the cement industry has the most potential of heat recovery relative to the reference of 150 °C, The tile industry has the highest potential of heat recovery at 25 °C. In addition, the amount of carbon dioxide emission reduction due to recycled waste heat from the specified sources is estimated 1.92 million tons per year.
